THE HORROR!! |
So here's an example of how icky my bathroom was (see left). This is just the sink, I'm too ashamed to show you the tub. Of course I took everything out of the bathroom first to wipe down and clean all the surfaces, so those cute little filth rings are from those items.... your standard bathroom grossness. No, I'm not proud of it, and no it usually never gets this bad but when you and your roommates are too busy to get to it... these things happen.
I went to the store and purchased a bottle of white vinegar, baking soda, a spray bottle, and some new sponges. I spent a grand total of about... $5-$7 on what I bought to clean my bathroom. You might not even need the sponges, either so just the vinegar, baking soda, and spray bottle were about $5. If you've got a spray bottle already, even better! I'd rather spend $4 on a cleaner that will last me 2-3 cleanings than $10 on a brand name chemically infused cleaner. So what I picked up won't kill my cat if she steps in it and decides to clean her toes...
The spray bottle cap fits right on top! |
After the concoction starts fizzing, walk away for 5-15 minutes depending on how much filth you need to remove. I waited 15 minutes, and got myself a drink and played a round of Titanfall. When I came back, it was time to put the sponge to use.
I gently took the sponge over the ick that I could still see and it came right off! I barely put any effort into getting these stains off my bathroom surfaces, and lo and behold they practically just melted away!
Now, keep in mind, when you wipe the access away it looks a lot like paste. A dirty, icky paste. But it rinses away quickly and easily, and takes all that nasty grit, grime, and filth along with it. The only downside to doing it this way, that I found is you have to make sure you rinse a few times. You don't want to miss a spot and have a gritty tub because of dried baking soda fizz. Once you've got all that done, you'll be amazed at how shiny and clean your bathroom is! I know I was!!! Look at this!
TA-DAAAAA!! |
I'll be using this mixture for a long time coming. It was easy, cheap, safe and amazing! If you have any tips or tricks of your own, leave them in the comments below! Thanks for reading, and good luck cleaning!
